Lawzie Marigold

Lawzie Marigold Foundation Scholarship

This Scholarship is in memory of Lauren Baruch, a former student of Smithtown West High School.  Our goal is to honor the charitable spirit she demonstrated throughout her life.  The Lawzie Marigold Foundation also hopes to raise financial support for other worthy causes that represent Lauren’s principles and passions.

During Lauren’s high school career she was inducted into the New York State Business Honor Society, served as student ambassador to the Smithtown Industry Advisory Board, and was an active DECA participant who won numerous competitions at many levels.  She served as student president of her 2009 class at Smithtown High School West.  Lauren furthered her high school accomplishments by receiving her bachelor’s degree from Farmingdale State College. The public relations experience she gained through her schooling helped her to achieve success with the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  In between her studies, she balanced three jobs as a nanny, a restaurant hostess and as an executive assistant to the president of the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Lauren Baruch had dreams and aspirations of traveling the world, cultivating an understanding of both her own roots and the culture of others.
